The Yang Fire day master: the sun
Yang Fire, also called Bing Fire, is one of the ten day masters in BaZi, the Chinese Four Pillars. In short, like the sun: warm and open, lights up every room it walks into, and wears its feelings on its face.
What Yang Fire is like
In BaZi the Yang Fire day master is pictured as the sun, the larger, more outward form of Fire. People with this day master tend to share a few habits:
- Shows up for people loudly and in person.
- Generous with praise, with time and with the last slice of pizza.
- Can't stand anything done in secret; plays everything in the open.
You can usually spot a Yang Fire: the one laughing loudest across the restaurant, who already knows the waiter's name.

Yang Fire and Yin Fire
Yang Fire and Yin Fire share an element and differ in scale: the sun and the lamp. Yin Fire: soft on the outside, clear within, and can light up one thing, or one person, all the way through.

Your day master is the heavenly stem of the day you were born, counted on the Chinese solar calendar. Each of the ten stems comes around once every ten days, so about one person in ten is Yang Fire. Is Bing Fire the same as Yang Fire?
Yes. Bing is the Chinese name of the heavenly stem, so English BaZi books call it either Bing Fire or Yang Fire.
